Biography Paragraphs

Marlit Hayslett, PhD works with UVA graduate students and faculty on how to share their research with non-specialist audiences such as the public, media, industry, and policymakers. Marlit leads development of research communication and science policy core modules of PhD Plus, and instructs skills series of these modules.  Prior to coming to UVA, Marlit worked at the Georgia Tech Research Institute studying science policy. She also served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in Krompachy, Slovakia. Marlit holds a B.S. and M.S. in International Affairs, and an M.S. in Public Policy, from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She earned a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from the University of Georgia.
