This is part of level 3 Job Search series of PhD Plus STEM Future Faculty skill series.
In this session, participants will discuss and learn from experience of one PhD students and one Postdoc from UVA who successfully navigated the faculty job search process in 2020-2021 amid a pandemic. The speakers participated in PhD Plus STEM Future Faculty series last year and will be able to share useful lessons that they were able to apply in their job search and hiring process.
Guest Speakers
- Bethany Gordon. Bethany Gordon is a Ph.D. Fellow in the Behavioral Science for Sustainable Systems program at the Convergent Behavioral Scientist Initiative and School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia. Bethany will join University of Washington's Civil and Environmental Engineering department as an Assistant Professor starting September 2022
- Jose Garcia-Tirado. Dr. Jose F. Garcia-Tirado joined the Center for Diabetes Technology (CDT) at University of Virginia as an Assistant Professor in March 2021 following his postdoctoral research with the CDT.
