PhD+ Career Design: Skills-Assessment

New Cabell Hall 349 (French Conference Room)

Once you have identified 2-3 careers of interest, spend time in this session to understand the skills valued in those careers. Through mining job descriptions and informational interviews, you will build and analyze career-specific skills inventory, with "career community" of peers. All career communities will share their skills inventories with each other.

Furthermore, identify transferable skills and how to effectively communicate your transferable skills through storytelling. Ultimately, assess gaps in skills, and continually re-assess your skills.
