Entrepreneurship seminars are a mix of case discussions, guest panels, and action-oriented workshops covering topics such as: founders agreements, incorporation, market analysis, product development, funding and deal terms, business models, investor presentations, etc.

Investor Rubrics and Social Impact: Acumen and Embrace

For today’s discussion, we will dive into some challenges that emerge in the world of venture capital (in general) and impact investing (more specifically). We will focus upon three questions, in particular: 

  1. How does the investment “thesis” (i.e., decision rubric) shape an investor’s decision to invest
  2. What do the various terms (e.g., liquidation preferences) in an investor term sheet even mean
  3. How might corporate form (i.e., non-profit versus for profit) impact the funding profile of a company?
