Adriana Streifer

Adriana Streifer joined the University's Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) in 2016. She runs the center’s teaching consultation services, training faculty, graduate, and undergraduate consultants to conduct classroom observations, student focus groups, and one-on-one consultations. Adriana’s educational development research focuses on course design practices; student perceptions of instructors’ pedagogical improvement efforts, of innovative teaching techniques, and of grading and evaluation; and the impact of race and gender on student perceptions of learning-centered teaching practices. She teaches intensive writing courses, and seminars on early modern English drama and women in drama. Adriana earned PhD in English Literature from UVA in 2015.

Adriana directs two professional development programs for PhD Plus teaching core module: the multi-tiered teaching skills series- Tomorrow’s Professors Today, and teaching-focused graduate liaisons. Adriana also serves as instructor of teaching statement sessions of Future Faculty skills series.
