The UVA Library’s Research Data Services Team and Research Computing are partnering with UVA’s PhD Plus program to offer  – Introduction to Programming in Python, with Machine Learning – a six-session series to build data analysis, wrangling, and visualization skills.

We recommend registering and committing to attend all six sessions. Spots are limited.

Session 1. Getting Started.

Python is a free, general-purpose scripting language that has become widely popular.  This session will introduce Python through the Anaconda distribution from Anaconda, Inc.  We will use JupyterLab as well as the Spyder Integrated Development Environment.   After setting up our environment and exploring the two interfaces, we will cover the basic variables and types.
