Description: Are you looking to structure discussions around more than just discussion questions? Could your students use a boost of energy in sections? This workshop will assist graduate students with planning discussion sections to boost student engagement and subsequent learning through the use of interactive in-class activities. First, participants will learn a variety of teaching strategies that facilitate deeper engagement with material. The second half of the workshop will then be geared towards assisting graduate students in developing their own activities or tailoring the general suggested activities to their specific classes.
