Fall 2020 NSF GRFP Writing Intensive

Starting in early September, we will be offering a GRFP Writing Intensive series, where applicants will develop and strengthen their GRFP applications using their application outlines, peer review, and complete application review by previous winners and faculty.

Before attending Session 1, please have a complete GRFP application outline. (Follow the Application Timeline and Checklist to assist in your outline.)

Session 1 - Focus on the Personal, Relevant Background, and Future Goals Statement

Session 2 - Focus on the Graduate Research Plan Statement

Session 3 - Peer Review and Final Steps

NSF GRFP Application Review

SUBMIT YOUR NSF GRFP APPLICATION FOR REVIEW BY FACULTY MEMBERS, PREVIOUS REVIEWERS, AND PREVIOUS WINNERS! 

Submit your (1) Personal, Relevant Background, and Future Goals Statement, (2) Graduate Research Statement Plan, and (3) CV or Fastlane application using this form by 5pm on Wednesday, September 30.

15-minute individual Zoom meetings will be scheduled between applicants and internal UVA reviewers for the afternoons of October 7-9.


NSF GRFP Reviewer Panel

Please contact Katie Pelland (cmp5cg) if you were unable to attend but are interested in notes from the panel.

Join us for this panel of fellowship reviewers where you can learn about how applications are reviewed, gather insights and tips to apply to your own application, and ask questions about the process. At a minimum, attendees should read the NSF GRFP Program solicitation to familiarize themselves with the fellowship before the panel.

Questions for panelists can be submitted in advance via the registration form or asked live at the event.

This event is a collaboration between PhD Plus and the Graduate Writing Lab and is open to all UVA graduate students.
