PhD Plus Career Design series will be offered in Spring 2022 on Thursdays between Jan 27 and Feb 25 at 3.30 pm – 5 pm (5 weeks; equal to 5 hours total workshop time. Excludes preparation time). We encourage all PhD students in year 2 and above, and Postdoctoral Scholars at all stages of training to participate. Upon successful completion (75%) of this session, PhD students are eligible for non-credit credential (PhDP 9100) in academic transcript. Career Design is also strongly recommended for PhD candidates applying for PhD+ internships.

Please note: PhD students in humanities & qualitative social sciences can also enroll in 1-credit course, GHSS 7050 on Fridays 3-4 (content and expectations will vary).

This is the fifth and last session of PhD Plus Career Design skills  series.

In this session, trainees (PhD students and Postdocs) will learn strategies to

  • Synergize lessons learned in last four sessions
  • Create an individual development plan: Set short-term and long-term goals to broaden knowledge of career options, build professional community, and develop skills and experiences.
  • Leverage PhD Plus to make progress on short-term and long-term goals
  • Find an accountability buddy or peer group
