The series is planned to help students who are interested or curious in the path from graduate school or professional studies to consulting as a career. This series is formed of five sessions, each hosted by a UVA alum speaking of their journey to consulting providing the audience with a first-hand narrative to observe this unique career path. This event is also open to all students and postdocs.
Speaker: Jackie Swan
After completing a PhD in physics at the University of Washington and a postdoc in chemistry at UVA, Jackie moved to a consultant position at BCG in Chicago. She was there for nearly two years and worked in healthcare and industrial goods doing strategy and operations cases. She recently moved to the internal consulting team at Schindler Elevator, where she focuses on strategy and ops cases across Schindler's US organization. She loves to run and hike and crochet. She still reads scientific articles from time to time and continues tutoring to keep up her skill set. She lives in Chicago with her husband, three cats, a dog, and has a baby on the way.
